A Case of Mistaken Identity – The “Other” Gary Halbert

Gary C. Halbert is Deceased – Gary D. Halbert is Alive & Well

Unfortunately, having an online namesake has led to a great deal of confusion on the part of my clients and subscribers. Since thousands of new subscribers come onboard my Forecasts & Trends E-Letter each year, it is important that they realize there is another Gary Halbert that is prominent on the Internet. His name is Gary C. Halbert. I am Gary D. Halbert. We are not related, and Gary C. Halbert actually passed away back in 2007.

Even so, Gary C. Halbert continues to have a huge presence on the Internet even after his death.  If you do an online search for “Gary Halbert” without my middle initial, you do not find a direct link to me until somewhere around the second page of links. 

Therefore, if you do an Internet search on my name, it is important that you include the middle initial “D” if you want to get to my links quickly.  Otherwise, you’ll likely see a LOT of links about the “other” Gary C. Halbert, and nothing about me, Gary D. Halbert until you get a couple of pages deep in most search engines. Just keep that in mind.

Finally, if you should tell someone that they might want to check out my Forecasts & Trends E-Letter or my firm’s investment opportunities, please emphasize that they use “Gary D. Halbert” should they do a search on the Internet.
